Canon ELPH 150 IS vs ELPH 160: What Actually Changes?

Compatibility details are based on manufacturer documentation. How we check ↗

START HERE

Both use 20MP CCD sensors. The ELPH 150 IS has a wider, longer 24–240mm 10x lens and optical stabilization. The ELPH 160 has a 28–224mm 8x lens, Digital IS rather than optical stabilization, and a thinner body.

The documented differences.

The ELPH 150 IS has more optical reach, a wider starting view and lens-shift stabilization. The ELPH 160 is newer and thinner, but its larger model number does not mean it gains optical stabilization. Decide from those features and the condition of the actual camera. Digital IS and lens-shift optical IS are different systems.

Check the actual camera before choosing.

  • Ask for a new original photograph and a demonstration of shooting and playback.
  • Try focus, flash, zoom, buttons and the battery/card door.
  • Include the cost of any missing battery, charger, supported card and reader.
  • Check the return terms and what the seller has actually tested.
