COMPARISON RESEARCH / OCTOBER 28, 2026

Photos, facts and expectations.

28 model profiles and 283 community examples. Manufacturer specifications and practical explanations are kept distinct from photographic evidence.

How to read the photo examples

Model metadata was refreshed from Wikimedia Commons on October 28, 2026. These are different photographers, scenes, lighting, camera settings and possible edits. They show what has been made with a model; they cannot establish its unedited default color or a fair noise ranking. EXIF flash flags identify whether flash fired, not whether the scene was a night portrait. Original files, photographers, licenses and camera evidence remain linked.

Practical outcome descriptions are design-based inferences from sensor class, lens, controls and handling. They are not measured performance scores. RAW support and full manual exposure are recorded separately; a camera’s mode labeled “Manual” is not automatically PASM.

Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II

A flexible step up for dim light and softer backgrounds. Larger than the simple ELPHs; no viewfinder. JPEG fine detail can be smoothed by processing.
